PhD alumnus Don Capener was appointed as the dean of the Continuing Education Department at Utah Valley University (UVU). Prior to his appointment, Capener served as interim Associate Provost of the Continuing Education Department from September 2021. Since joining UVU in May 2019 as associate dean and graduate director of the Woodbury School of Business (WSB), Capener has significantly contributed to the growth of numerous education programs, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, digital marketing, and the WSB MBA program, among others. Dr. Capener holds extensive skills in education, business, and management, in part owing to his PhD in International Management, Master of Business Administration from Thunderbird School of Global Management, and bachelor’s degree in political science, economics, and Asian Studies from Brigham Young University.
