Whenever I travel to Paris for classes, I try to stay a day longer to get to know the city more as Paris is very charming. You will find yourself adoring the amazing architecture of the buildings, beautiful gardens and the impressive views during the day and at night. Although Paris tends to be quite hectic during the day, in the evening, especially on the warmer days, people gather in coffees shops, along the side of the river Seine, or the St. Martin Canal, savoring good food and drinking wine and other beverages.

During early mornings on the weekend, I enjoy visiting Montmartre area with its Basilica of Sacre-Coeur church. The streets around there are still quite empty with fewer tourists so it is very nice to go there for a stroll and enjoy a coffee or a breakfast in a local café. Montmartre is also known for art as many artists used to have studios around the area including Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Vincent van Gogh and many others. Today, people can still view paintings of artists at small art museums near the Basilica of Sacre-Coeur.

Other areas that I have enjoyed spending time at during the day or in the evening are streets around Place Republic, the St. Martin Canal, and the Bastille area. There are some good places to eat and dance as well as activities such as boat rides. In addition, Champs-Élysées is also another great place to check out for shopping. During my past visits, I preferred spending my time outside, therefore; I have not had a chance to visit the most famous museums yet such as the Louvre museum. However, they are definitely on my to-do list for the colder rainy days.

Overall, Paris has a variety of things and activities to offer and so much to see. I enjoy visiting the city and I am glad I have the reason to come back again for classes. Otherwise, I do not think I would have the chance to explore the city to such an extent.
