Student Stories - PhD
Madeleine Nicole Maillette | PhD Alumnus from Canada
In 2013, I knew that I needed a higher academic license in order for me to accede to a choice position within my field of Electronic Engineering Technology. The competition is usually fierce in that environment and getting a PhD degree is what I needed to make me a good candidate for any executive promotion. Because I was under the obligation to be fully employed in my profession; I required a University that could complement both my workload and my future interests (Field of Security). I found both of my requirements at the ISM which offered the right course load and academic support in order to complete my PhD. I can happily say that I have an "up" now over some other candidates for the position I am competing for. I thank all professors who helped me get to where I am today.
I enjoyed the courses in Paris and New York because the face to face was within a good timeframe that allowed me to use my work vacations without having to take leave without pay. I also enjoyed meeting other students. As for all online courses, I loved the freedom to work anywhere (ships, land, in the middle of nowhere with Internet access) and the fact that the professors responded very quickly to my inquiries.
